FF – Fantasy Football

BLT – Big L Tournament

Definitions

Conclusively placing ahead – Determined at the end of the FF season as the participant who ranks higher using the league’s method of scoring and breaking ties. If there is a playoff part of the season and both participants make it to the playoffs, rank will be determined by their performance in the playoffs and not the regular season. If it can be determined prior to the final game of the FF season that one participant by logical or mathematical necessity will place ahead of the other, this also qualifies as conclusively placing ahead.

Taste-consultant – An unbiased and neutral person called upon to judge the winner and loser shirt designs on the criteria of: (1) “clean graphics” (2) “clean language” and (3) “PG or G rated”.

Expiration date – the day one participant conclusively places ahead of the other in next year’s BLT.

Ice cream beverage – A malt, milkshake, float, moo-latte, blizzard, or other similarly priced desserts.

BLT Justice – An unbiased and neutral person called upon to make a ruling on disputes concerning whether or not cheating has occurred in the FF league, and if one of the participants is justified in terminating the wager early on account of this activity.

The Wager

Part 1. Loser designs and buys shirts

The wager outcome goes into effect immediately upon one participant conclusively placing ahead of the other participant in the BLT. The loser then has two weeks to produce, at his or her expense, two unique shirts with text or graphics designating one as the winner shirt, and the other as the loser shirt. The shirts will be made of at least average material and the loser is not required to spend more than $50 total for the cost of the shirts and decorations. Style and decorations for the shirts must be approved both by the winner and the appointed taste-consultant. Once both shirts are created, the winner owns both the winner shirt and the loser shirt, and this part of the wager is considered fulfilled.

Part 2. Loser wears the loser shirt on demand

Until the expiration date of the BLT, the winner may bring the loser shirt to any casual social event and request that the loser wear it while they are in each other’s presence. The loser is obligated to honor this request unless the shirt is not reasonably clean when it is brought to the event. Also, the loser may opt-out of his obligation by purchasing a medium-sized ice cream beverage of the winner’s requested style and flavor, or producing an equivalent homemade version. The ice cream beverage’s consistency will be unaltered and delivered within 15 minutes of the request.

Early Termination of the Wager

The wager and its obligations may only be terminated early under one or more of the following conditions:

(1) Both participants agree to terminate the BLT.

(2) One of the participants is subject to an irresolvable injustice in the FF league that resulted in a worse record, score, ranking, or tie-breaking points. Examples of such situations include, but are not limited to:

a. Unfair manipulation of one of the participants’ team by the league commissioner.

b. Losing to an opponent who clearly made a stacked team out of unbalanced trades with one or more other teams

c. Finding out that the other participant is in on a “stacked team” scheme

d. Finding out that the other participant paid his FF opponents to bench good players thereby increasing his or her winning prospects.

e. Finding out that the other participant obtained a username and password of one of the other players in our FF league.

If arbitration is necessary to determine whether one participant is able to execute early termination on these grounds, the issue will be brought to the BLT Justice and his decision is final.
