King Kong (1933)

With a thin plot and forgettable dialog, King Kong could only captivate viewers by its special effects. It doesn't do it anymore, and I couldn't wait for the movie to end and snap me out of my boredom. I guess we can see that at the time this was made, while Europe was looking for ways to merge art with movies, the US filmakers chucked all that hooey and went for action and effects. Funny how things look differently 70 years later...
